Specifications

The Cat’s Eye tyre pressure maintenance system is made of durable, non-corrosive materials and is not affected by vibration, shock or centrifugal force. Cat’s Eye will withstand -40 to +250 degree temperatures. The gauge is sealed to prevent internal or external water entry.

1. Cat’s Eye Body: Made of anodized aluminium, lightweight and durable.
2. Sight Glass: Made of polycarbonate, which is virtually indestructible.
3. Air Inlet Fitting: Central airing point fills both tyres with air at once.
4. Internal Check Valve: Protects the good tyre when the other tyre loses
more than 10%of its air.
5. Mounting Stud: Mounts Cat’s Eye to universal hub or wheel bracket.
6. 180 degree Hose: Connects to the outside tyre valve stem.
7. Straight Hose: Connects to the inside tyre valve stem.
8. Hose Fitting: Attaches to the valve stem.

How It Works

The Cats Eye makes checking the air pressure in dual tyres fast & easy. With just a glance, you can spot a slow leak or a potential major problem.

This system attaches to the dual hub or wheel stud and allows air transfer from one tyre to the other. Its single airing point fills both tyres equally at once, making the job quick, clean and easy. With just a glance, you’ll instantly see changes in tyre pressure:

When the “eye” is completely closed, the tyres are within 2% of recomended pressure and are equalized.

As the “eye” begins to open, the pressure has dropped 5-6%, a sign of a slow leak.

When the “eye” is completely open, the pressure has dropped 10% under the recommended pressure and needs immediate attention. At this point, the internal check valve is activated, isolating the good tyre from additional pressure loss.

What if one tyre of the dual combination blows out or goes flat?

The Cat’s Eye internal check valve prevents both tyres from going flat in the event one tyre develops a leak, blows out or when one of the pressure hoses is cut or broken.

Easy Installation

Installing the gauge is a quick and easy process. The new seal will stand up to sharp valve stem edges and repeated installations. Cat’s Eye comes with wheel and hub mounting brackets.

Position valve stems 180 degrees across from each other. Make sure they are clean and in good operating condition.

Attach the Cat’s Eye gauge to the wheel hub with the appropriate mounting bracket.

Finger tighten hose ends, inside tyre first, until you hear the seals take hold. Give each fitting an extra 1/2 turn to ensure a tight seal. Then bubble test. (See the complete installation instructions when installing Cat’s Eye).
